VP - Publishing Services
Jack joined Gannett in 2000 as director of circulation administration with The Arizona Republic where he was subsequently promoted to vice president of circulation and then vice president /national field operations for Gannett Publishing Services (GPS), a business unit of Gannett Co, Inc. in September 2011. Prior to joining Gannett, Jack held various circulation positions at The Times Herald-Record in Middletown, NY; The North Jersey Herald-News; The Daily American Republic in Poplar Bluff, MO and at The Telegraph Herald in Dubuque, IA. Jack was named to his current position as vice president/national distribution and single copy sales for GPS in September 2012. Jack oversees all home delivery and single copy distribution and operations, single copy sales and third-party distribution partnerships.
Vice President – Publishing Operations
Tony is responsible for developing and managing GPS’ technology and business process strategy, including its USA TODAY network optimization center, National Postal operations, contracts and logistics, and its national business operations center (NBOC) in Charlotte, NC. In 2011 Tony managed the deployment of RouteSmart Online for Gannett’s community newspapers, and in 2013 opened its Route Optimization Center, which supports route optimization strategies across Gannett’s 109 markets. He works closely with Gannett’s Law and IT departments to align GPS strategies with broader corporate priorities. Tony joined Gannett in 2001 and has held positions in McLean, VA, Louisville, KY, Asbury Park, NJ and Westchester, N Y. He is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Leadership.
Director - Human Resources
Sarah Kingsley officially joined the USA TODAY NETWORK in December 2005.
Sarah has held many roles throughout her decade long human resources career. She started working for the Lansing State Journal as an HR intern while attending Michigan State University. Following her internship, she officially joined the Gannett family as an HR Assistant at the LSJ. Sarah worked in this role while finishing up her Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University. Following that role, Sarah worked as an HR Generalist for 3 years proving HR support to approximately 500 employees from the Lansing State Journal, Battle Creek Enquirer and the Port Huron Times Herald. From 2011-2012, Sarah expanded her footprint and began working on the Employee Services team assisting employees across the company on benefit and payroll related matters.
Sarah began providing HR support for Gannett Publishing Services (GPS) in 2013 working on special projects and strategic initiatives for the division which consists of approximately 4,500 employees. In 2015, Sarah became the HR lead for GPS partnering with corporate and local executives to work on strategic initiatives and all aspects of Human Resources Management including talent acquisition, retention, compensation, organizational development, and performance management.
Sarah is married and had a daughter, Isabelle who is now one. Aside from staying busy being a first-time parent, Sarah enjoys baking, traveling and outdoor activities (walking/jogging) in her spare time. Sarah participates in a number of 5k’s to support a variety of causes.

Regional VP - West Operations
Greg Fiorito grew up in Rochester, NY and graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1984 with a BS in Printing Management. Throughout his 33-year tenure with Gannett, he’s held various positions such as; USAT Production Coordinator, Sr Production/Commercial Coordinator, Night Operations Manager, Production Manager, Assistant Production Director, Production Director, Regional Production Director and West Ops Regional VP (current position). In addition, he’s worked at several Gannett facilities including; Westchester NY, Rockland NY, Bridgewater NJ, Tarentum PA, Little Rock AR, St Cloud MN and Appleton WI. Greg is a 7-time Gannett President’s Ring winner and in 1999 was named second runner up to the top Production executive, and in 2001 was named top Gannett Production Executive. In his spare time, Greg can be seen on a golf course or riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Regional VP - East Operations
Jack Roth is the VP of Operations for the East Region of Gannett Publishing Services. As VP / OPS, he oversees 21 Gannett owned printing and packaging manufacturing facilities and third-party USA Today and Community Publishing production partners. Previously he served as the VP of Production and Production Director of the East Newspaper Group from November 2010 until the inception of Gannett Publishing Services in 2011, at which time Jack became the Northeast Region VP.
He began his career with the Asbury Park Press, Neptune, NJ in Prepress Advertising Services in 1989 and rose through the ranks following the purchase by Gannett in 1997. He lead the consolidated prepress department from 1998 – 2000 as Production Services Manager. In 2000 he became the Production Director of the Freehold, NJ manufacturing facility where he was named the Vice President of Production.
Jack is a four-time winner of the Gannett US Community Publishing President’s Rings for outstanding performance.
National Commercial Sales
GM/National Sales Director
Mike Christopher graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology and has been in the media industry since then. Mike started his career at The Washington Post, then moved on to USA Today in the early survival days. During his career Mike built a new Gannett facility in Wilmington, DE, followed by installing new print/packaging equipment in Nashville, TN. More recently, Mike was central to the relocation of The Miami Herald, and creating commercial print partnerships with 6 dailies. In 2014, Mike joined the Naples Daily News and holds responsibility as GM/Naples and National Commercial Printing Sales Director.
National SR Sales Executive
Mark Allen joined Gannett in 2009, bringing with him over 20 years of commercial printing sales experience. After serving as the National Print Buyer at Sears Headquarters, Mark made the switch to sales where his understanding of the needs and concerns of our commercial customers is unique. Whether a small community newspaper or a national retailer, Mark understands that you are looking for, and deserve, the best we have to offer.

Regional VP - Distribution
Mike began his career with Gannett in 1976 at the Journal News, formerly the Westchester Rockland Newspaper Group, where he held various circulation management positions. In 1982, Mike joined USA TODAY as a Circulation Manager in Southern California and held various circulation management positions including Manager/New Market Development on the USA TODAY National Launch Team. In 1985, Mike returned to the field to lead USA TODAY’s circulation operations in Kansas City, Chicago, and Washington, DC. In 1995, he was named General Manager of the Seattle USA TODAY Market. In 2000, Mike returned to the East Coast as General Manager of the New York/New Jersey/Philadelphia Circulation Market of USA TODAY. In October 2012, Mike was named Regional Vice President Distribution/Northeast for Gannett Publishing Services. In this role, Mike oversees all home delivery and single copy distribution and operations and third-party distribution partnerships in the Eastern Region.
Regional VP - Distribution
Steve Wagenlander joined Gannett in 2015 from Summerville Communications in South Carolina where he was President and Publisher. Simultaneously to his role as Publisher, Wagenlander also served as Evening Post Industry’s Corporate Director of Audience Development. Immediately prior to Summerville, Wagenlander served as Director of Advertising for The Post and Courier in Charleston, SC. Wagenlander started his newspaper career at The Lexington Herald-Leader and also worked at The Indianapolis Star prior to moving to Mount Pleasant, SC in 2000. Wagenlander holds a Master’s Degree in Business from Indiana Wesleyan University and an undergraduate degree in Business from Berea College.
Regional VP - Distribution
Joe Werlinich was promoted to Regional Vice President Distribution/Midwest in July 2013. Joe’s region includes Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri and Kansas. He manages all distribution activities at US Community Publishing sites in these markets as well as USA TODAY. Joe had been the Market and Sales Distribution Director in Los Angles since GPS launched in September of 2011. Joe has been with Gannett since 1984 and worked in Charlotte, Pittsburgh, Tampa, London, and Los Angeles. His experience lies in distribution, single copy sales, hauling operations, and field operations.
